Welcome to our rafting, kayaking and parasailing page!
Year 'round boating is possible on Lake Tahoe. In the summer months, many kayakers hit the lake or the local rivers for adventure. Once the majority of the snow melt is gone, the rivers slow down and become navigable in small personal watercraft. You can rent rafts on some of the popular routes e.g. the Truckee River (photo below) which drains Tahoe at the north-west corner of the lake - see our Tahoe golf map or our ski map.
If you are using a kayak or canoe, access the lake through any of the numerous marinas or through the Tahoe beaches such as Nevada Beach close to our condos. There are minor parking fees (e.g. $3 per vehicle) at most beach entrances but no fees for launching a paddle-power watercraft. Cyclists and pedestrians are free.
Parasailing services are available at the larger marinas around the lake. The colorful parachutes are visible around the lake during the warmer months.
